Dana,
Brook, and Bree Hokana, also known as
“The Hokana Girls”, have
been making their mark in the AQHA and NRHA show arena this year
in a big way!
Brook Hokana started off the year at the Arizona Sun Circuit.
She made her debut in the Amateur Western Pleasure aboard her
mare, Dimensionally Rosita, placing 2nd
her only day shown. Brook and “Rosie” have been a team for 6
years. They have had many circuit championships in the Youth
Western Pleasure division. It looks as though they are
equally, if not even more successful, in the Amateur division.
Since Arizona Sun Circuit, Brook and Rosie have won the Circuit
Championship in Amateur Western Pleasure at every circuit in
which they have shown. They have also placed first under every
judge to whom they have shown. This includes: (1) the Back 2
Basics Circuit, (2) the Silver Dollar Circuit, and (3) the
Spring Circuit. In addition, they won
the
Limited Open Western Pleasure Maturity at the Silver Dollar
Circuit. They have also won many senior western pleasure
classes. That makes 16 straight consecutive wins for the team!
Brook
has also had much success in the NRHA show pen aboard her
gelding, RR Hi Ho Star. Brook and “Hi-Ho” won the Reserve
Championship in the Intermediate Non-Pro Futurity at the Cactus
Reining Classic, and were the Reserve Champions in the Non-Pro
Derby’s at the NRBC! Bree Hokana is racking up the wins in the Youth Western Pleasure aboard her mare, Love My Dimensions. Bree and “Boogie” have been a team since 2007, and have much success under their belt as well. Starting their season out at the Show Me The Money Circuit, the team won the Circuit Championship in Youth Western Pleasure, winning 1st under three of the four judges. Their success didn’t stop there. They have gone on to win the Circuit Championship in Youth Western Pleasure at the Back 2 Basics Circuit, winning 1st under three of four judges. They also won Circuit Championship in Youth Western Pleasure at Spring Circuit, winning 1st under three of the four judges. In addition they also won the Reserve Championship in Senior Western Pleasure, winning 2nd under three of the four judges. Finally, Bree and Love My Dimensions won the Reserve Circuit Championship in Youth Western Pleasure at the Del Mar Nationals, and won the Reserve Circuit Championship in the Senior Western Pleasure behind Dimensionally Rosita.
Dana, the mother and trainer of Brook and Bree, just keeps the
victories coming! Dana rides her daughter Brook’s horse,
Dimensionally Rosita, in the Senior Western Pleasure. They have
had many wins together as a team, including AQHA World
Championship Top 10 in 2008 in Senior Western Pleasure. This
year, Dana and Dimensionally Rosita started off their season at
the Spring Classic, winning the Senior Western Pleasure under
all four judges! Dana and “Rosie” then won the Circuit
Championship in Senior Western Pleasure at the Del Mar
Nationals, winning 1st
under all four judges. The team has had 8 straight wins in the
past two circuits. Brook is nationally qualified for the 2010 AQHA World in the Amateur Western Pleasure on Dimensionally Rosita, Bree is qualified for the 2010 AQHYA World in Youth Western Pleasure, and Dana is qualified for the 2010 AQHA World in Senior Western Pleasure! |
